Chipmunk Photo Gallery & Information

Chipmunks are a lot like mice or squirrels. They enter homes or businesses through small gaps in walls, soffits, or roof lines. There are many different techniques for trapping and taking care of chipmunks: live trapping, kill trapping, and never forget the importance of quality blockout or exclusion. |

"I have a few chipmunks, I believe they are burrowed under my elevated attached paver patio. Do they eat hostas and other plants? I believe my hostas are being eaten by something. Is there a spray or pesticide that i can spray on the plants- or should I plug up the hole where they hide? I belive its by the stairs/under the stairs"

Chipmunks chew on wiring which causes wire damage as well as wall and attic fires. |

|
Chipmunks are considered minor
agricultural pests. Most conflicts
with chipmunks are nuisance problems.
When chipmunks are present in
large numbers they can cause structural
damage by burrowing under
patios, stairs, retention walls, or foundations.
They may also consume
flower bulbs, seeds, or seedlings, as
well as bird seed, grass seed, and pet
food that is not stored in rodent-proof
storage containers. |

|
Chipmunks are climbers; they come into buildings from any opening and they come in numbers from one to many. |

|
Chipmunks are hibernating animals, but they do not fatten up like others. Every couple of days they wake up to eat, and on warm, sunny, winter days they may be seen above ground. |
