General Duck Facts
When a female duck lays eggs she plucks out some of her own feathers to cover them with. She then sits on the eggs for 30 days.
Duck feathers are waterproof; the top feathers produce an oil that keeps them from getting wet. There are fluffier feathers underneath the first layer and they keep the duck warm.
Ducks have no nerves or blood vessels in their feet, so they never feel the cold, even in icy water.
They eat insects, snails, seeds, plants, and grasses.
Ducks can be a nuisance and source of disease in residential pools and other bodies of water. For professional duck removal, coaching, and control services, call one of our technicians today!
